Senior Site Management
In extensive and complex projects, it pays off for the client to appoint an independent senior site manager (SSM). The tasks of the SSM consist in management and control of the construction work. This links between the interests of client, authorities, agencies and third parties.
In the project planning phase, the SSM assumes an advisory function as an expert and supports the overall project management (OPM). During the realization phase, SSM takes over the overall coordination and is the direct contact for the client. The SSM supports them in technical control, contract execution and “optimization of the project”. The SSM particularly reviews the contractor’s execution documents, requests their release from the client and adjusts any project changes with the planners and contractors. In addition, the SSM represents the client at regular meetings on the construction site (Jour Fixe and construction meetings).
