Replacement Overpass Bederstrasse, Zürich-Enge

For the realization of the new Bederbridge replacement structure (see separate reference), several directional drillings were carried out as advance services on behalf of the Zurich Electricity Works (EWZ). Go Bau AG was commissioned by Bänziger und Partner with the construction management for this complex work.
Specifications
Under very tight space conditions in the middle of Zurich, in front of the train station Enge, 3 flushing boreholes with a length of 100 – 120m were drilled. The boreholes passed under the existing track system and had to end precisely at the other end in the narrow target pit. The construction of the start and target pits between all the existing works pipelines and the given space conditions was already a great challenge. Even the installation of the necessary equipment for the bentonite-supported boreholes was a challenge. In the end, thanks to the expert companies involved, the boreholes were completed on schedule.
